Braço de Prata is an industrial area that lies at the banks of the river Tagus, located close to Marvila. The neighbourhood is known for the Fabrica Braço de Prata, an old munitions factory that was owned by the Portuguese government. The Fabrica Braço de Prata has since been renovated and now hosts music concerts and art exhibitions, it also includes a bar, restaurant and terrace. Oh, and a bookstore too!
Other than the revived munitions factory, Braco de Prato offers little of interest to many residents of Lisbon. That said, the nearby neighbourhoods of Marvila and Beato have seen big improvements in recent years, so Braço de Prata could be next to feel the benefits of this.
