Although not particularly large, Corroios is one of the most densely populated towns in Portugal. The cheap housing and close proximity to Lisbon has made it an attractive option for locals working in the city. A short, twenty-minute train journey will take you into the heart of Lisbon.
The train line crosses the River Tagus before approaching the western side of the city. Corroios is yet to capture the attention of tourists and expats, the town remains very much ‘Portuguese’. Although, the town does back onto the Costa da Caparica, an area very popular with surfers and tourists.
