Montijo is a municipality within the Setubal district, part of the Lisbon metropolitan area. The unique thing about this area is that it is one of few municipalities where its separate territories are not joined together. Montijo is inhabited predominantly by Portuguese locals, looking for affordable living options outside of the historic city of Lisbon.
A short ferry ride takes you across the Tagus River and into the heart of Lisbon. The area offers little in the way of mainstream tourist attractions but does possess some nice cafes which can be used as coworking spaces.
