Setúbal lies to the south of the Tagus River. To get here, you’ll need to cross the river using one of the many bridges that connect the northern and southern banks of the river. A direct train line also runs from Lisbon to Setúbal which takes about an hour. Setúbal neighbours the Arrábida Natural Park, making it an appealing destination if you enjoy exploring Portugal’s stunning coastline.
Surfing in Setúbal is non-existent, but the popular surfing destination - the Costa da Caparica, lies on its doorstep. The harbour at Setúbal pulls in some of the freshest fish to be found in the region. Make sure to book yourself a table at one of the local fish restaurants.
